On 8 March 1845, Willard Richards noted that Bullock had reached page 912 in volume C-1 of JS’s manuscript history. On 15 March 1845, Bullock noted that he had finished the year 1839. After 8 March 1845, Bullock adopted the practice of leaving pages blank where he intended to return at a later date to inscribe source documents. Bullock likely copied JS’s letter on pages 966–967 sometime between late March and 3 July 1845, during which time he regularly noted filling in blank pages from JS Letterbook 2 and other sources.
