Shaker elder Ashbel Kitchell reproduced this revelation in full in a reminiscent account sometime before his death in 1860. This memoir, no longer extant, was copied by Elisha D. Blakeman sometime later and again by H. C. Blinn in 1896. The Blakeman copy was later published in Lawrence R. Flake, “A Shaker View of a Mormon Mission,” BYU Studies vol. 20 (Fall 1979): 94–99.
